Quick Answers

The four things visitors ask before booking a private tour — answered plainly.

What is a private tour?

A private tour is a chauffeured day out booked by the hour for your party alone. There are no shared seats, no fixed departure time and no set route — you choose the destinations, we plan realistic timings, and the same vehicle and chauffeur stay with you from the first pickup to the last drop-off.

How much does a private tour cost in Seattle?

Private tours start at $95 per hour in an executive sedan, $125 in a premium SUV and $165 in a 14-passenger luxury Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum. A full-day Mount Rainier trip is $950 in a sedan and $1,250 in an SUV, including chauffeur, fuel, tolls and parking.

How long should a private tour be?

Three to four hours covers the Seattle highlights comfortably. Five to six hours reaches Woodinville wine country or Snoqualmie Falls without rushing, and a full eight to ten hour day is needed for Mount Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula, Leavenworth or the North Cascades.

Can we design our own itinerary?

That is the whole point of a private tour. Send us the places you want to see — or just the kind of day you have in mind — and our dispatch team maps a route with realistic drive times, booked stops and parking handled. You can still change it mid-trip on the day.

A Day Built Around You, Not a Timetable

Coach tours decide where you stop and for how long. A private tour reverses that. You tell us the kind of day you want — mountains, wine, coffee and bookshops, photography light, or somewhere your grandmother once lived — and we build the route around it, then adjust it on the day if the weather or the mood changes.

Because the vehicle is yours alone, the practical frustrations disappear too. Coats, cameras and shopping stay locked in the car. There is no parking to find at Pike Place on a Saturday, no ferry queue to judge, and no walking back uphill from a viewpoint in the rain. Your chauffeur handles all of it while you simply look out of the window.

Ten years and more than 15,000 completed rides across the Puget Sound sit behind the planning — which Mount Rainier entrance is quickest from the city, when the Bainbridge sailings fill, and which Kerry Park corner is clear when the cruise crowds arrive.

Private Tour Questions, Answered

Direct answers to what travellers ask us most. Anything else, our dispatch desk is staffed 24 hours a day.

Is a private tour guided, or just a chauffeur?+
Our chauffeurs are experienced local drivers who share the background to each stop and answer questions as you go, but they are not licensed museum guides. If you would like a credentialed historian, naturalist or a foreign-language guide to travel with you, we can arrange one for an additional fee.
Are attraction tickets, ferry fares and meals included?+
The fare covers your vehicle, chauffeur, fuel, tolls, parking and ferry fares for the vehicle. Admission to attractions such as the Space Needle, Museum of Flight or Mount Rainier National Park, plus tasting fees and meals, are paid by your party directly.
Can we change the itinerary during the day?+
Yes. Hourly private hire is 'as directed', so you can drop a stop, linger somewhere longer or add a detour on the spot. Your chauffeur will tell you honestly whether a change still fits the remaining time.
Do you run private tours in winter?+
Year-round. Mountain routes depend on road conditions — the Paradise road at Mount Rainier and some Cascade passes close in heavy snow — so in winter we weight itineraries toward the city, Woodinville, Snoqualmie Falls and the Olympic Peninsula, and tell you in advance if a route is at risk.
Can the tour start or finish at the airport or a cruise terminal?+
Yes, and layover tours are popular with cruise and conference visitors. Luggage stays locked in the vehicle while you explore, and we deliver you to Sea-Tac, Pier 91 or Pier 66 exactly when you need to be there.
Do you provide child seats for family tours?+
Yes, at no extra charge. Rear-facing, forward-facing and booster seats are fitted and secured before pickup — just give us the children's ages when you book.
How far in advance should I book a private tour?+
A week is comfortable for sedans and SUVs. Summer weekends, cruise season between May and September and holiday periods book early, so reserve three to four weeks ahead for Sprinters, limousines and mini coaches, and for full-day mountain trips.
What is the minimum booking length?+
Three hours for sedans, SUVs, Sprinters and stretch limousines, and four hours for mini coaches and party buses. If the vehicle is free afterwards you can extend on the day at the same hourly rate.
Can we stop for lunch or a coffee?+
Of course — meal and coffee stops are part of the booked hourly time and the chauffeur waits with the vehicle. Tell us the kind of food you like and we will suggest places with easy drop-off, or build the day around a reservation you already hold.
Are your private tour vehicles licensed and insured?+
Seattle Limo Service is fully licensed in Washington state and every vehicle carries commercial liability insurance. The fleet is inspected, cleaned and sanitized between bookings, and certificates of insurance are available where a venue or employer requires one.
