Quick Answers

The four things guests ask before booking a Woodinville wine tour — answered plainly.

What is a Woodinville wine tour?

It is a private chauffeured day through Woodinville wine country, booked by the hour for your party alone. You visit three or four tasting rooms across the Hollywood, Warehouse, West Valley and Downtown districts, the chauffeur waits at each one, and nobody in the group has to drive between pours.

How much does a Woodinville wine tour cost?

A six-hour tour is $570 in an executive sedan, $750 in a premium SUV, $990 in a 14-passenger Sprinter and $1,170 in a 24-seat mini coach. That works out around $70 per guest in a full Sprinter. Tasting fees and lunch are paid directly at each venue and are not included in the fare.

How far is Woodinville from Seattle?

Woodinville is roughly 22 miles northeast of downtown Seattle, about 35 to 45 minutes by car depending on the 520 and I-405. From Bellevue or Kirkland it is 20 to 30 minutes, and from Sea-Tac Airport allow an hour.

How many wineries should we visit in one day?

Three or four. Each tasting runs 45 to 75 minutes once you add seating, the flight itself and any bottle purchases, so a six-hour tour comfortably fits four rooms plus a lunch stop. Five is possible on an eight-hour booking but rarely enjoyable.

More Than a Hundred Tasting Rooms, Forty Minutes Away

Woodinville packs well over a hundred tasting rooms into a few square miles northeast of Seattle, which is wonderful and faintly overwhelming at the same time. Pick badly and you spend the day driving in circles between districts; pick well and four rooms feel like a holiday.

That routing is most of what we do. We group stops by district so the drives are five minutes rather than twenty, place lunch where it breaks the day properly, and build in the honest truth that a tasting takes an hour once you add seating, the flight and buying a bottle. Four rooms in six hours works beautifully. Six rooms does not.

The other half is simpler: nobody drives. The chauffeur waits at every door, loads the cases you buy, and takes everyone home afterwards. Ten years and more than 15,000 completed rides across the Puget Sound sit behind the planning — including which rooms are closed on a Tuesday and which have a driveway a 24-seat coach cannot use.

The Districts We Route Between

Woodinville is four distinct clusters plus a handful of breweries and distilleries. Most good days mix two or three.

Hollywood District

The polished heart of Woodinville — the Chateau Ste. Michelle estate grounds, Columbia Winery and the Hollywood Schoolhouse cluster, all within a short drive of each other.

Warehouse District

Dozens of small-production rooms packed into working warehouse bays. Relaxed, pour-heavy and the easiest district for walking between several tastings.

West Valley & Artisan Hill

Hillside rooms with valley views and bigger patios, ideal for a longer afternoon stop or a group that wants to sit outside in summer.

Downtown Woodinville

Walkable tasting rooms, distilleries, a cidery and several restaurants in a few blocks — our usual choice for the lunch stop.

Beer, Cider & Spirits

Not everyone drinks wine. We happily build in a brewery, cider house or distillery so the whole party has somewhere they enjoy.

Woodinville Plus Snoqualmie

An eight-hour day pairing three tasting rooms with Snoqualmie Falls and the Salish Lodge viewpoint on the way back into the city.

Wine Tours We Run Most

Start from one of these or hand us your own list of producers — every itinerary is adjustable on the day.

Wine Tour Questions, Answered

Direct answers to what wine tour guests ask us most. Anything else, our dispatch desk is staffed 24 hours a day.

Are tasting fees included in the tour price?+
No. Our fare covers the vehicle, chauffeur, fuel, tolls and parking. Tasting fees in Woodinville typically run $15 to $35 per person per room and are paid at each venue, and many waive the fee with a bottle purchase. Lunch is also paid directly by your group.
Do you book the tasting room reservations for us?+
We plan the route and timings, and for groups of six or more we will call ahead so each room is expecting you, since most Woodinville tasting rooms require a reservation for larger parties. If you already hold bookings, send the times and we will build the day around them.
Which wineries will we visit?+
That is your choice. If you have favourites we route around them; if not, we suggest a mix — an estate winery such as the Chateau Ste. Michelle grounds for scale, two or three small-production Warehouse District rooms for character, and a Downtown stop for lunch. We never take commissions from venues, so the recommendations are honest.
How long should a Woodinville wine tour be?+
Six hours is the sweet spot and covers three or four tasting rooms plus lunch without rushing. Four hours works for two or three rooms and no sit-down meal, and eight hours suits celebration groups, corporate offsites or anyone adding Snoqualmie Falls to the day.
Can we drink in the vehicle between stops?+
Guests aged 21 and over may enjoy sealed beverages in the rear cabin of our limousines, Sprinters and party buses, and we stock ice, glassware and bottled water. Open containers are never permitted in the front of the vehicle, and we card anyone who looks under 30.
Is there room for the wine we buy?+
Yes, and people always buy more than they expect. A premium SUV takes several cases alongside six passengers, and a Sprinter or mini coach has a dedicated luggage area. Tell us if you are collecting a wine club shipment and we will allow for it when choosing the vehicle.
Can the tour start somewhere other than Seattle?+
Of course. We collect from homes, hotels and offices across all 37 Washington cities we serve, including Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Everett and Tacoma, as well as Sea-Tac Airport and the Pier 91 and Pier 66 cruise terminals. Travel time is included in the quoted fare.
What is the best day of the week for a wine tour?+
Friday and Saturday have the most rooms open and the liveliest atmosphere, but they are also the busiest. Thursday and Sunday are quieter and often give you more time with the pourers. Many Warehouse District rooms are closed Monday to Wednesday, so midweek tours need a tailored route — we will tell you honestly what is open on your date.
Do you run wine tours in winter?+
Year-round. Woodinville tasting rooms are indoors and the quieter winter months often mean more attention from the staff and easier reservations. Holiday-season weekends do fill early, so book ahead for December dates.
Can we stop for lunch during the tour?+
Yes, and we recommend it strongly — a meal halfway through makes the afternoon far more enjoyable. Lunch is part of the booked hourly time and the chauffeur waits with the vehicle. Tell us the kind of food you like and we will suggest places in Downtown Woodinville with easy drop-off.
How far in advance should we book?+
Two to three weeks is comfortable midweek. Summer Saturdays, release weekends and the December holiday period fill early, so reserve six to eight weeks ahead for Sprinters, mini coaches, limousines and party buses on those dates.
Can we extend the tour on the day?+
If the vehicle has no booking immediately after yours, extra hours are added at the same hourly rate. Ask your chauffeur and they will clear it with our 24-hour dispatch desk in a couple of minutes.
Are your wine tour vehicles licensed and insured?+
Seattle Limo Service is fully licensed in Washington state and every vehicle carries commercial liability insurance. The fleet is inspected, cleaned and sanitized between bookings, and certificates of insurance are available for corporate clients and venues that require them.
